Are you a student working hard to finance your education? We can help! Do you have a wonderful director? Know a creative teacher? An amazing professor? Do you admire the way one of your colleagues advocates for young children? OCAEYC would like to recognize their hard work and commitment!

Please consider applying for one of our grants or nominating a special teacher for one of our awards.

The following grants are available:

  • Alma Green Grant Award: $300 for an applicant who is at least 35 years of age and beginning or returning to serious education at an accredited institution for child development or related courses or for registration fees to seminars of related subject matter.
  • Jill Dubin Grant Award: $350 for an applicant who is pursuing a career with school-age children. Award must be used at an accredited institution for courses on school-age development or education or for registration fees to seminars on this subject matter.
  • Barbara Hartman Grant Award: $350 for an applicant who is a college freshman or sophomore enrolled in child development related courses. Award must be used at an accredited institution for child development or related courses.
  • Leonor Wilson Grant Award: $400 for an applicant who shows professional promise and contributions to the profession of early childhood education. Award must be used at an accredited institution for child development or related courses or for registration fees to seminars of related subjects.
  • Play Matters - Docia Zavitovsky Grant Award - $350 for an applicant who has displayed the essential qualities of the focus of Docia’s work: that play is essential to healthy human development. The award will be given to an early education professional who has demonstrated exceptional efforts to place play in heart of children's lives. The award is to be used at an accredited institution for child development or related coursework or for registration fees to seminars of related subject matter or to develop play-based curriculum, present at a conference, provide staff development, or develop research that demonstrates the outcomes of play based curriculum.
  • Catherine Dunn-Ryan Scholarship: $400 scholarship to professional who has demonstrated exceptional mentorship to other teachers in the field.

  • Tom Hunter Memorial Award
Grant applications are available and grants are awarded each spring.
